Two members of rapper Key Glock’s entourage were arrested on the spot after attempting to bring loaded firearms into the Governors Ball music festival, causing a stir among attendees and security.
According to reports from the New York Post, the incident occurred on June 8 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, where the annual Governors Ball festival was being held. Security personnel stopped Joshua Crutcher, 31, and Dion Michaels, 22, as they tried to enter the VIP area. A criminal complaint filed in Queens Criminal Court revealed that Crutcher was carrying a loaded .40-caliber Glock 23 pistol with 18 rounds hidden in his waistband.
When questioned by security, Michaels admitted there was a weapon inside their vehicle’s center console. Security then discovered a Glock 43x 9mm pistol loaded with nine rounds. Further search led to the recovery of a 20-round 9mm magazine and a switchblade from the car.
Both Crutcher and Michaels were immediately arrested and charged with multiple counts of weapons possession, including felony charges. Michaels was released on his own recognizance on June 9 and is scheduled to appear in court on August 13. Crutcher remains in custody with bail set at $10,000 cash or $30,000 bond, and is expected to appear in court on June 18.
It remains unclear whether Key Glock was present with Crutcher or Michaels at the time of the arrests, and the rapper has not made any public comment regarding the incident.
The shocking arrests have raised concerns about security at major music events and put a spotlight on the entourages of high-profile artists like Key Glock.
